We're engaged!

So here is a partial re-enactment of the events of January 1, 2007. In short, Jamie Michael Clark proposed to me on a hike in Massanutten, Virginia, and I said "yes"!


Jamie had joined me and my family for our yearly ski vacation in the western part of Virginia (except there was no snow). It was after Penn State beat Tennesee in the Outback bowl, and we decided to hike the ridge overlooking the Massanutten valley.


After finding an overlook, we sat down to enjoy the view (or so I thought).


Evidently I was the only one enjoying the view, as Jamie got up the nerve to ask me an important question!

He presented me with a beautiful pearl necklace, told me he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, then asked me to be his wife.




Jamie had managed to completely surprise me (not the first time in our relationship that he had done this)!

But it didn't take me long to tell him "yes".


After briefly enjoying the view (of each other), we then went back down the mountain to our time share unit where Jamie's parents and his younger brother were waiting with my family to surprise us with a New Year's day celebration dinner.


A verse which Jamie has been claiming for our marriage is Psalm 23:6 in which David exclaims that

"Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

We're excited to start our lives together, probably this coming December 22nd, 2007.
